Do you really want to know what I'm thinking about?

This is my son

Every day he comes home we ask him the same question and we get the exact same answer.  I’m sure there are things that they did in class because he will belt out a new song every now and then. (click on the image to see the full thing)

Wow, Remicade really works

It’s been 8 weeks since my last infusion and I’m starting to hurt. I’ve just started to take some Vimovo to try and mitigate the awful pain.  Since I left Rogers and their 100% health coverage (less a deductible) and joined my new company, I need to get approved to take Remicade with the new insurance provider.  And they only cover 80% of the drug cost.

Every 6 weeks I was getting infused with Remicade at a cost of $5,355 per infusion.  Under the Rogers plan that was covered 100%.  Now under my new plan I will be responsible for $1,071 each infusion, and needing 8 infusions per year that works out to be $8,568 per year to the drugs.  I can’t afford that on a single income earner’s salary. And that is only IF the insurance company deems that I am insurable for this pre-existing condition.  Otherwise its the full $42,840 myself. YIKES!

One of the things I am going to try to do is contact my BioAdvance coordinator and see if I qualify for some compassionate assistance where they will cover the cost of the delta in what I pay versus the insurance company.  Here’s hoping.

Today was the first day that I actually took one of the Tylenol 3’s that my Rheumatologist gave me years ago to help cope with the pain.  So far, not working too great I must say.
